Enable/Disable local host

Post by davidransier » Wed 12. Mar 2014, 18:05

I upgraded to 3.0 in hopes that it would support a feature to enable and disable local host urls.

I work with a number of customer sites, and maintain local version to test against.

Is there a way to define the host name within MAMP Pro 3 and simply enable or disable it as needed. It's a lot of work having to recreate the host setup each time I need them. Ideally, I just want to check or uncheck a box in the interface for each host name.

Thanks,
David Ransier

That’s what I do, too, but I didn’t quite get why you’d want to disable the localhost URLs as long as you’re not working on them.
After all, that’s the big advantage in having virtual hosts – you can have lots of them without mapping the localhost to a different directory each time…

Please don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that what you want is nonsense, I’m just trying to understand what’s the advantage.
