Can't connect to localhost

Postby tocapa » Sun Feb 10, 2008 9:13 pm

So, I've been having this problem for a little while. Whenever I start MAMP.app, the servers appear to already be started. However, when I go the start page, or any page in htdocs, it says that it can't connect to the server 'localhost'. When I try to stop the servers to quit, it asks me for my password, but then fails to stop the servers. No matter how many times I try, the servers still appear to be running, but I can't connect to them.

I have been using Leopard for about a month-and-a-half, but this problem has not presented itself until just recently. Help?

Hi tocapa,

we have received similar bug reports and are working on a fix. You can try this work-around: open the preferences, don't change anything and hit the OK button. This should restart the servers and recover the current server state.

Thanks,

Works after power interrupt

Postby Spirit Bear » Mon Mar 31, 2008 1:37 am

Thanks for posting the Preferences trick. I've been stumped on this one before--reinstalled MAMP the two previous times after power interruptions. Glad I did not have to this time after finding this trick.
